Almost everybody snacks at night. In fact, according to IRI and Harris Poll data, more than 80% of adults snack regularly at night, totaling over 700 million nighttime snacks consumed each week. That`s a combined spend of over $1 billion weekly. We struggle to make the right choices but most of us don`t reach for the healthiest options and instead reach for the cookies, chips, and ice cream. Eating the wrong snacks at night can impair sleep, and when we don`t sleep well, everything suffers: performance, appearance, relationships… everything. Our modern lifestyle keeps us awake later and later, violating our natural sleep rhythms while our biological programming compels us to load carbs and fats in case food is scarce tomorrow – a survival throwback to hunter-gatherer days.
